Unusual Seller September 10, 2010 B. Byrnes Ordered a Logitech notebook mouse in pink. Received a few days later an obviously used mouse of the same model in dark silver. No packaging just loose in bubble wrap with a battery and a note telling me to visit this web sit if I wanted an owners manual. Contacted the seller and they were nice enough to send a prepaid return label and promise a 100% refund. I was also informed that this item was no longer in stock. Only comment is AMAZING. Don't believe I'll be back.
Too Small & Poor Quality September 6, 2010 A. Marks (Los Angeles, CA) This little mouse is SOOO CUTE, I wanted to love it. Was replacing a boring but very functional Logitech mouse that lasted forever, but this thing is brand new and barely functional. It's tracking is really inconsistent and glitchy, it randomly holds on to things it shouldn't, won't move how and where I need it to. Since that is a mouse's ENTIRE JOB - that's totally unacceptable!
My arm also really hurts - egonoic stuff is so individual, but for me, this mouse seems ot be too small. And I'm small! I'm only 5'2" but I think I need something more substantial.
Wish I could say I'm ONLY dumping it for the poor size, but the lousy quality is a real concern. I've been reading a ton of reviews trying to decide what to get next, and am getting the overall impression that Logitech's quality has really declined since I bought my last mouse from them. They sued ot be reliable & cheap... now feeling like they may just be cheap. My experience with the v220 certainly supports that.
A superb little mouse in every respect August 30, 2010 Sherman A. Thompson (Brady, TX, USA) My ten year old Mac "inverted hubcap" G4 desktop computer has been in the shop off-and-on for two months trying to get the accursed Safari 4 so-called "upgrade" removed. Meanwhile, I bought a great little like-new wireless Mac G4 ibook (running OSX 10.5) off Amazon for $208 to keep me going. I've used track pads for years and am OK with them, but I prefer a mouse. I have always had good luck with Logitech products so I bought a refurbished, guaranteed, VX220 mouse from a Verizon vender for only $9. It came in a plastic bag, along with a spare USB accessory cable, and no instructions. Slipping the little USB receiver unit out of its slot on the bottom of the mouse reveals a little switch marked "off/on," a reset button marked "reset," and a press button with a battery symbol printed on it. Everything was self evident. I pressed the battery cover release button firmly and the cover released, revealing a small battery compartment marked "AA" and a + sign at one end. After inserting an AA battery, snapping the cover back in place, and inserting the tiny receiver into a USB slot on the notebook, the mouse was fully functional. Interestingly, the notebook trackpad was also still functional. I could use either one, as I chose.
Some have said the mouse is a bit too small, but I find it a perfect size, better than the larger clunky mouse of my ailing desktop Mac. The wheel is comfortably large and scrolls with precision up and down and side to side. The clicker has just the right amount of resistance. I have yet to find a surface or color the sensor doesn't like, including skin and glass. The USB mouse receiver has a little dog-leg slot that, when the receiver is re-inserted in place on the bottom of the mouse, engages the little on/off switch and automatically switches off the power, saving battery life. Logitech says the battery should last upward of six months. I use rechargeable NiMH batteries so battery power isn't an issue, but I always switch it off anyway out of habit. Some have complained that the VX220 receiver has only about a 4-foot range. If you need to type while using the mouse, and your arms are more than four feet long, this could be an issue. In that case the mouse USB receiver could be plugged into one end of the USB accessory cable and the other cable end plugged into the notebook, giving you greater range. My mouse has never been too far from the computer to work. It functions out to 6 feet, measured, further away than I can use the laptop monitor.
In summary, the little mouse is extremely well thought out ergonomically and easy to use. I have absolutely no complaints so far. I might even buy another another one for my big Mac when I get it back.
Great Mouse, but short range August 29, 2010 T. Larson The mouse is great, setup was easy, etc. The only problem is that the effective range is only about 3 feet. So if you were planning to use it to control a computer 10 feet away, it won't work. But other than that it's great.
Logitech V220 Cordless August 27, 2010 M. Williams (Orlando, FL USA) I have used Logitech and Microsoft products. Made the mistake of buying a microsoft wireless mouse in between purchases but it would never work properly. The Logitech mouse is better by far!
