Good Jeans Still? September 4, 2010 claire bright (AL, USA) I have bought my son several pairs of Levis in the past and they have been great. I have seen, however, on the J.C. Penny website, a lot of reviews that say that the back pockets tear. I've never had that problem with Levis before, and the reviews make me wary to buy more ($32.00 a pair is not cheap).
Has anyone had trouble with back pockets ripping?
Good wash, comfortable! September 3, 2010 Christopher Holkestad (seattle, WA) These are very comfortable right out of the package. Nice wash, well built and a fan favorite. IF you question your size, err on the smaller size, since they are preshrunk and didn't change much in the wash
An odd fit August 27, 2010 J. Evans (Houston) I've always been partial to Levi's for a number of reasons, not least of which is the recent proliferation of so-called 'boutique' brands that want upwards of $[...] for a pair of jeans. Good ol' Levi's are still as affordable as ever, and they've done a great job at producing a wide array of fits and styles that offer something for just about everyone.
Levi's 527 low-rise boot-cut jeans, however, are not for me. I love boot-cut jeans because boots are a staple of my wardrobe, and the 527s are certainly stylish pants. Their fit, however, seems a little odd. It's not that they're necessarily tight pants, though they are snug in the thighs. The real issue with these pants is their failure to provide any significant space for the gluteus maximus, if you will. It's not even that they are tight, it's just that there is no place for your butt in these pants. The clincher is that 527's are actually loose in the waist on me. Yes, odd as it sounds, they are snug in the thighs, non-existent in the rear, and loose in the waist.
The 527s seem to be intended for the board-straight models you see in Levi's ads. I am a relatively large person (6'4" 230 lbs), but not even remotely fat (I wear a 34" waist). I lift weights regularly and I'm definitely not thin. I have an other-than-flat posterior and my thighs are probably quite a bit larger than those of the average teenage boy. These pants, suffice it to say, do not seem to be intended for grown men. It's a shame, because I like the washes and overall look of the jeans, just not the fit.
Bottom line: thin is in for the 527s. Those who take up a little more space should explore other clothing options.
good quality jeans August 13, 2010 B. Neilly i wear these every day at work, they dont allow blue jeans, they are comfortable, not quite as tight fitting as my blue jean 527s, not sure if thats because these were made in cambodia and my blue ones were made in mexico, but with these i actually need a belt so thats why it's only a four star rating.
NICE FIT August 1, 2010 Jack W. Wolfe Nice fitting jeans the sit just right and look good and for the price they are worth every penny
